✨ Sutra 1.2: “Yogas citta vritti nirodhah” translates to “Yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind.” ✨

.

This profound sutra emphasizes the importance of mastering the mind and recognizing its distortions, much like ripples on a lake or social media filters.

.

The “citta vrittis”—correct perception, delusion, imagination, deep sleep, and memory—can distort our view of reality. “Nirodhah” is about ceasing these fluctuations. It doesn’t mean we stop thinking; it means we observe our mind and act with awareness.

.

Yoga Sutra 1.2 reminds us that through consistent practice, we can control our actions and reactions, making thoughtful decisions instead of being driven by emotions. 💫
